Overview:
Preserve the delicate beauty and structural integrity of your most fragile historic masonry with our PHL 2.0 Lime-Based Repointing Mortar.
Formulated with no Portland cement, this premium concentrate, available in convenient quart and gallon sizes, is meticulously formulated to replicate the performance, breathability, and historic characteristics of NHL 2.0 feebly hydraulic lime mortars.
By blending this concentrate with locally sourced sand, you can easily create a historically accurate and exceptionally gentle mortar for a long-lasting repair to your most cherished and delicate structures.
Key Features:
- Authentic PHL 2.0 Formulation: Our PHL 2.0 mortar is a pozzolanic lime mortar, a historically accurate blend of high-calcium lime and reactive clays (pozzolan). It is free of Portland cement, making it ideal for repairs on historic masonry originally built with soft lime mortar.
- Versatile Quart & Gallon Concentrates: Choose the size that suits your project needs, with each container yielding approximately 4 times its volume in ready-to-use mortar when combined with local sand.
- Exceptional Breathability for Delicate Masonry: The high lime content and feebly hydraulic nature of this mortar make it exceptionally breathable, allowing moisture to escape easily and preventing damage to delicate masonry.
- Five Classic Colors: Select from white, gray, light buff, dark buff, or dark red to help match the original mortar color of your historic structure.
- Easy Mixing and Application: Simply combine the concentrate with sand and water according to the provided instructions for a smooth, workable mortar that is easy to apply.
Ideal Applications:
- Repointing historic brick and stone masonry built with soft lime mortar, particularly in sheltered locations
- Repairing cracks, gaps, and deteriorated mortar joints in very soft or fragile masonry
- Matching historic mortar colors and textures in delicate restoration projects
- Restoring the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of heritage buildings with sensitive masonry
Why Choose PHL 2.0 Lime Mortar?
Unlike modern cement-based mortars, which can be too rigid and trap moisture, our PHL 2.0 lime mortar is exceptionally gentle and breathable, making it ideal for use on soft and fragile masonry that requires a delicate touch. By using a historically accurate mortar with the appropriate hydraulic properties, you ensure the longevity and beauty of your most sensitive restoration work.
Important Note: PHL 2.0 is specifically designed for soft or fragile masonry in sheltered locations. For masonry exposed to direct weather or requiring greater strength, consider our PHL 3.5 or 5.0 mortars.
Mixing Instructions:
- Combine one part PHL 2.0 concentrate with 2.5 to 3 parts clean masonry sand.
- Gradually add water until the desired consistency is achieved.
- Mix thoroughly until the mortar is smooth and homogenous.
Safety Precautions:
- Always wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves and eye protection, when handling mortar.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines for proper mixing and application.
Invest in the preservation of your delicate historic masonry with our PHL 2.0 Lime-Based Repointing Mortar. Order your quart or gallon concentrate today and experience the difference that quality, authenticity, and gentle care can make.

from 110 reviewsPro Mason Supply is a dream to work with. I've ordered Brick Stain several times and it has arrived carefully packaged. The Stain works very well and lasts. I will always use Pro Mason products! Highly recommend
This is my second order. My mason liked the stain I ordered and it looks great.
Great paint. It’s nice that you can order in small sizes to be sure you purchase the correct color. Delivery was great.
The mortar came quickly, well packaged and invoiced. Happy so far!
This brick stain was so easy to apply and looks great! Shipping was fast and customer service was great.
Very responsive to my emails. Speedy delivery. The red mortar worked well. Thanks!
So happy I found ProMason Supply. We have an 1800’s brick farmhouse that needs some love. The lime mortar concentrate works beautifully for it.
Ordered several items to work on the foundation on my historic home. Items were well packaged, delivered quickly and exactly what I had ordered. Recommend this company if you need specialized mortar mixes.
Fast shipping, great product! Works really well on brick!
They have the products I need for my 1873 historic restoration.
I love this company! I was determined to lighten the mortar on the brick floor in my sunroom. I sampled a stain from a well-known paint store, but what was supposed to be a stain looked too much like ordinary paint. Then, I went on the hunt. I found ProMason Supply on Google. First, I ordered two samples of water-based stain hoping one would be just right, but it was the mixing of the two (Cream and Dark Buff) that got me the color I wanted. ProMason wasted no time getting the quart-size cans to me that I needed to get the job done: simple ordering, fast shipping. I’m an amateur and close inspection shows it😊, but it was a days-long project well worth my time. See the before and after pics. The room looks so much bigger and brighter. Thank you, ProMason!
