Revitalize and restore your damaged masonry with our Lime - High-Build Repair Mix, a meticulously crafted solution designed for substantial repairs on porous stone and brick surfaces.
Key Features:
- Pre-Blended for Convenience: Our High-Build Repair Mix is ready to use with just the addition of water, eliminating the need for complex mixing and ensuring consistent results
- High Breathability for Optimal Moisture Management: The absence of Portland cement allows the mortar to breathe, preventing moisture buildup and promoting the long-term health of your masonry.
- Fiber Reinforced for Enhanced Performance: Fine polypropylene fibers are incorporated into the mix to increase tensile strength, improve flexural strength, and reduce shrinkage, resulting in a more durable and long-lasting repair.
- Versatile Quart & Gallon Containers: Choose the size that suits your project needs, whether you're tackling minor repairs or larger restoration efforts.
- Ideal for High-Build Repairs: This mix is specifically designed for vertical and overhead repairs, allowing for lifts from 1/4" up to 3", making it perfect for rebuilding missing sections of masonry or filling deep cracks.
- Carvable and Sandable: The unique properties of hydraulic lime allow for easy carving and sanding, even after the initial set, providing flexibility for artistic expression and fine-tuning of details.
- Color Customization: Easily tint the mix with cement pigments to achieve a perfect match or create custom colors. The cured mortar can also be stained or painted for further customization.
Ideal Applications:
- High-build repairs on porous stone and brick surfaces
- Vertical and overhead patching and restoration of stonework
- Rebuilding missing sections of soft or fragile masonry
- Filling deep cracks and voids
- Repairs on historic buildings
- Matching historic or contemporary mortar colors through tinting or staining
- Artistic sculpting and molding on historic masonry projects
Why Choose Lime - High-Build Repair Mix?
Unlike modern cement-based mortars, which can be too rigid and trap moisture, our Lime - High-Build Repair Mix offers the strength and durability of a cementitious material with the breathability and workability of lime. This unique combination makes it ideal for historic substantial repairs that require integrity and aesthetic appeal. Additionally, its fiber reinforcement, carvability, and compatibility with porous materials make it the perfect choice for achieving beautiful, long-lasting results.
Mixing Instructions:
- Gradually add water to the pre-blended mix and mix thoroughly.
- Continue adding water until you achieve a dry, workable consistency, similar to the texture of stiff clay.
- Allow the mix to rest for a few minutes, then remix before application.
Safety Precautions:
- Always wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves and eye protection, when handling mortar.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines for proper mixing and application.
Invest in the preservation and beauty of your masonry with our Lime - High-Build Repair Mix.

from 144 reviewsSomeone rebuild our concrete steps at the top where they were pulling away from the house, but they did not use black mortar, they did a good job with the craftsmanship, but the mortar looked awful. Thanks to the stain from ProMason our steps look so good!.
The Mortar stain was amazing! Easy to apply and dramatically improved the appearance of our fireplace,. Allowing a DIY correction lof a mismatched, botched professional repair. More color choices would be helpful. Thank you.
I had a problem with the my first order of masonry stain. I was replaced quickly. Great customer service.
The masonry stain is a lifesaver! Love it! Before you freak out over the price it can be dilluted 3x water to stain and do so much coverage. My chaotic multicolor brown brick is now a beautiful warm whitish color. I got the cream masonry stain
I had a chaotic brown, red, cream and gray brick home feom the 70s and wanted to modernize it so I got the cream masonry stain and dilluted it 2x water to stain and did a wash and absolutely love the results. Great product!!!! Would love to show pics?
Great information on the website to select the right mortar for the job I am going to attempt. They also included a print out in the box with further instructions and advice. Fantastic!
Great product! Fast delivery. Ordered on Monday and received on Friday right on time for my weekend project.
I ordered samples for mortar stain, and plan to order gallons of the stain for our project. Ordering was easy and shipping was fast. The stain samples had leaked a little in shipment, but we had plenty to test the stain. The stain itself works perfect and cleans up easily and doesn't have a strong odor, which I was surprised by. I had a question about coverage and reached out to Pro Mason through the contact page. They were quick to respond, helpful and thorough in their reply. Would recommend the products and company to others.
I used the brick stain on two fireplaces. The first one I did using the cream color and it is perfect. For the second one, I used charcoal and it came out a bit dark. (Just like with paint, it starts out light and dries darker.) Because I preferred the color of the wet version of the stain, I decided to go back over it with a paint wash. It was sooooo much harder to do a paint wash! With the stain, it was much easier to get a consistent finish. I am sticking with ProMason for any of my future brick projects!
Really happy to have found this source for good historic masonry repair. I am very happy with the mortar and directions they sent, and their shipping was very fast too. I’m sure I will be a loyal customer for years to come.
Ordered 3 samples of brick stain. I’ve only done a sample of them on a brick yet the coverage on 2 of the 3 was excellent with only one coat with a brush. My middle color was a custom 50/50 mix of the other 2. The 3 rd stain sample didn’t make it to the final brick sampling.
I am entirely new to masonry, but I managed to repoint a section of my 300 year old stone foundation with lime mortar, and I’m very happy with the results. I was not able to find the appropriate mortar locally. Maybe a bit crude, but I bet it’ll hold up another hundred years!
