Collection: Post-1950's Brick & Stone Mortar

Type N is a general purpose mortar that is compatible with most modern-day brick and stone walls. It is our go-to for repointing projects in buildings built after 1950. This mortar can be used for walls, floors, and most modern masonry applications as it has a great balance of workability and strength while not being too hard for modern brick as type S can be.

Type S is a high-strength mortar that should be avoided for most brick walls but is useful for repointing below-grade structural masonry and high-strength masonry units such as hard-fired brick pavers and granite. This mortar is also commonly used for repointing structural cement block walls.
