Pick High Build to rebuild missing sections, deep chips and broken corners of brick or stone, including on vertical and overhead surfaces.

Product Best for
Repair Grout Hairline cracks, voids and injection in walls
Low Build Shallow wall repairs to 1/4 in. and fine finish detail
High Build (this one) Deep wall and overhead repairs, 1/4 to 3 in. per lift
Brick Kit High Build + Low Build, red-toned, for brick walls
Limestone Kit High Build + Low Build, buff-toned, for limestone walls and trim

Steps or other high-wear masonry? Use Fast-Repair. Concrete flatwork? Use High Strength Concrete Patch. Pure lime patches are generally too soft for those areas. Shallow surface repair? Use Low Build.

  • Deepest lime repair in our lineup - lifts from 1/4 in. up to 3 in.
  • Fiber-reinforced and lightweight - holds on walls and overhead.
  • Carvable after it sets - shape and sand it to match the stone.
  • Five colors - Natural White, Gray, Light Buff, Dark Buff or Dark Red; tint, stain or paint.

How the job goes

  • 1. Prepare. Remove loose material and dampen the masonry.
  • 2. Mix. Add water to a stiff-clay consistency, rest a few minutes, then remix.
  • 3. Build and shape. Build up in lifts, then carve and sand to match, and protect while it cures.

Sizes

  • Quart (sample and small projects)
  • Gallon (standard size)

Safety: lime is caustic. Wear gloves and eye protection.

More about High Build

When a sill spalls, a carved edge breaks away, or a brick face is missing, the repair has to stand up on its own. High Build is our deepest lime patching mortar: a pre-blended hydraulic lime mix with fine fibers that holds on vertical and overhead surfaces, without Portland cement, so it stays breathable alongside the old work.

Add water gradually and mix to a dry, workable consistency like stiff clay. Let it rest a few minutes, then remix. Build up in lifts from 1/4 inch to 3 inches. We recommend working when it's above 40°F, and protecting fresh work from freezing while it cures.

Because it is lime, it stays carvable and sandable even after the initial set, so you can shape edges and tooling marks to match the surrounding stone or brick. Tint it with cement pigments, or stain or paint it once cured. For a crisp final surface, finish with a thin layer of Low Build.

High Build is made for walls and overhead work and typically shouldn't be used on steps or flatwork, because pure lime patches are generally too soft there. For steps and other high-wear masonry, or a patch that needs to set in minutes, use Fast-Repair; for concrete flatwork, use High Strength Concrete Patch. To get both lime mortars together with matching pigments, see the Brick Kit or Limestone Kit.
